Friday Fabbies

Here are the week’s sites that I thought were uber cool : (yes, really!)

Organiser update

well, sorry its been a few days!!! i had a health blip that stopped me doing stuff… but in the meantime, I have been buying cheap FiloFaxs!

this is my family of Filo’s so far:

A5 Metropol (choccie brown)

Personal Identity (black)

Malden Pocket(raspberry)

Domino Personal (Violet)

Non Filofaxes – Pink Paris Personal.

And the one that started it off – an A5 unbranded Organiser, which is my Tarot Journal.

a couple well, 4, other nondescript ones, that I bought for the inserts.

Now, I have managed to sort out my chocolate Metropol. I have bought the calendar from Leonie Dawson, along with her business workbook. It is at the beginning of each month in my dividers.

my Pink one has also been organised. I now have a section for Book reviews, recipes, inspirations, goals, daily and weekly. So, this one is my personal organiser, as opposed to the Metropol which is a work one, because its too big to carry around.

The picture shows just some of the Organisers… Sasha cant carry any more, 🙂 also there is my colour coding.  The pic at the bottom is my Collins Paris organiser, that I am using for my Happiness file. 🙂

blogs of note:

I have been looking around for blogs, that are both useful and into Filofaxes…

these are the ones I have found so far.. if you know of more, then drop me a line or include them in a comment.

This is the first one (and i do love this site!!!! )

and of course… the one and only
And there will be more to follow as I find good sites… this will become a regular feature, oh another good site… its got a blog on it… thats my excuse !!!

Staples stash!!!

Well, I went!!! Sasha took me to Staples!!! and we spent ages staring at all the Filofaxes, comparing them with our own 🙂

Notice the cheesy grin of a girl in Filofax heaven!!!  we spent ages drooling over the pens, and hole punches, and Martha Stewart stuff, which is being discontinued

I got tabs from there, but the dividers just dont have enough holes in them. So I got some cheap ones to play with (and cut up!!!)

In fact… this is my stash:

Smiley Stickers, punched pockets (for something I want to try, pens with 4 colours in them, some sheets with lines (no holes!) 2 Frixion pens – 1 pink 1 purple, and a box of pins and clips etc, to solve my problem of weedy paperclips.

Its all pastel colours, which i didnt realise till we got back to the car, so, that is weird, it also means that by accident, my Filofax is themed!!! 🙂

I had a great time, and Sasha is going Guest Post on this blog when she has time.yipppeee!!!!

Hello World!!! my name is Cheryl and Ive just got back into using my Filofax since I started Tarot Journalling. I am a Tarot Reader, with a love of stationery.

Ive been journalling in an old filofax.. and i was bitten by the bug! I have a Metropol and im getting an Identity (filofax, not generally, lol!).

I am currently getting together things for my dashboard…. ive got one lot of stickers, some flag things, and large paperclips, that seem to be useless, because they are not strong enough. Im going to add more dividers etc later… im currently getting lots of inspiration from you tube especially Kent from Oz. Also Philofaxy is brilliant too.. lovely site!!

I am going to staples tomorrow, they have a reduced selection of Martha Stewart stuff, as its being discontinued!! I am going with Sasha, my friend 🙂 shes a Filofax-aholic too! 🙂

musical movement

Im loving going to the gym. Which is strange because i’m a reluctant exerciser!!! I get on that treadmill and walk briskly for half an hour. When done, I’m red-cheeked and tired!!! But my problem is music. i have an ipod and the music im using isnt helping. So, im trying to find the best music for the gym.  i have tried hip hop, rapping, classical and some 80’s songs.what works for you??

Nationality not important!

Well, today on the news the news team reported that britons were part of a hostage siutation in Algeria.

Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m convinced that everyone’s important …. Regardless where they come from! The news reporters do this over and over again, saying that britains have been killed abroad, when in fact there were other people involved too.

Everyone is important. A life is a life!!! And all are equally important.

Baby you can drive my car

I live near Canterbury, kent. Its a lovely city, full of old buildings, history and a thriving high street. The council have seen fit to think about putting car parking charges up. Now, this will have a detrimental effect on the High Street, because people will not want to pay for parking as well as their shopping. Yes i know there is park and ride, but thats ok if you don’t have much shopping 🙂

Its sad that councils do this, because it will reduce their high street and increase the out of town shops, not good for Canterbury and a bustling city..well, it bustling at the moment!!!

In this time of austerity, i think its short – termist thinking. Besides, are they going to reduce rents for the shop premises? No i doubt it!

There, ive got that off my chest!!! 🙂

Pack up your happiness……and decorations!

I went shopping today, and apart from the sale of clothes, its business as usual. Before christmas we saw lots of lights, trees and loveliness. Its drab now, the decorations turned off, taken down, and packed away for another year; and with them appears to have gone the smiles, freindliness and warm feelings. How soon people forget!!!!!

In the run up to the festive season, people stopped and said hello. Everyone was nice, and in a jolly mood. Now its over, the grumpiness is back. I know its a bore to go back to work, do the shopping and stay happy, but shouldn’t we try? A smile costs nothing, and could mean so much for the old chap who never speaks to anyone. A word of greetings can make a person feel happy.

Today, lets try to remember those around us, and spread some cheer instead of gloom 🙂

Sheds and Fishing….

My husband has been very busy of late, in fact I have hardly seen him. He is either working in one place, or another! So, he decided he needed a day fishing, to recharge and calm his batteries. He books the date in, and spends a week talking about the day he will go fishing.

So, at 5.30 am he got up, got dressed in his fishing gear, loaded his stuff in the car (I have never seen so much stuff being taken for one day, you’d think it was a WEEK!!!) Anyway, off he goes!!!! I hear from him 2 hours later, all set up and sitting on the bank…. fishing. Well, it seems he is enjoying the day. He tells me the wind is blowing directly in his face, so its “a bit cold” and that his tea flask tipped over, so he only has half the tea he left the house with! He texts me later, to say he still hasn’t caught any fish… but he seems happy enough.

At 3pm he rings me… the car is packed, and he is coming home. He didn’t catch a fish… and he is cold. He comes in, smelling of the fish bait, needing a cup of tea and some warmth. A good day – spent “fishing”.

What did I do? Well, we have a shed (think warm shed, and cozy) so I spent my day sat in there, with the dog. Dog wanted to go in and out all the time until he finally settled. I worked, online, from the shed, with music on, the fire on just occasionally to keep me warm,  and the odd cup of tea to keep me going 🙂 (we have a kettle in the shed) so I had a lovely, chilling, relaxing day!

Give me a Shed any day – I don’t think I am cut out for Fishing 🙂
